In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
আল্লাহর নামে, যিনি পরম করুণাময়, পরম দয়ালু

আল্লাহর ৯৯টি নাম মূলত তাঁর বিভিন্ন গুণের প্রকাশ। কিন্তু "আল্লাহ" নামটি সর্বজনীন, অনন্য ও সর্বোচ্চ, যা সমস্ত গুণাবলিকে অন্তর্ভুক্ত করে। এ কারণেই "আল্লাহ" ৯৯ নামের তালিকায় অন্তর্ভুক্ত নয়, বরং তার ঊর্ধ্বে। পবিত্র কুরআনে আল্লাহ নিজেকে বিভিন্ন আয়াতে "আল্লাহ" নামে পরিচয় দিয়েছেন, যা প্রমাণ করে যে "আল্লাহ" হল তাঁর মৌলিক ও সর্বোচ্চ নাম। যেমন:

সুরাহ ত্ব-হা ( ২০:১৪ ) : [ আল্লাহ বলেন ] " নিশ্চয় আমিই আল্লাহ , আমি ছাড়া কোন (সত্য) উপাস্য নেই ; অতএব আমারই উপাসনা কর । এবং আমাকে স্মরণের জন্য নামায কায়েম কর । "
সুরাহ আন-নামল (২৭:৯) : [ আল্লাহ বলেন ] " হে মূসা ! নিশ্চয় আমিই আল্লাহ , পরাক্রমশালী, প্রজ্ঞাময় । "
সুরাহ আল-আ'রাফ (৭:৫৪) : [ আল্লাহ বলেন ] “ নিশ্চয় তোমাদের রব আল্লাহ্ যিনি আসমানসমূহ ও যমীন ছয় দিনে সৃষ্টি করেছেন ; তারপর তিনি আরশের উপর উঠেছেন। তিনিই দিনকে রাত দিয়ে ঢেকে দেন , তাদের একে অন্যকে দ্রুতগতিতে অনুসরণ করে। আর সূর্য , চাঁদ ও নক্ষত্ররাজি , যা তারই হুকুমের অনুগত , তা তিনিই সৃষ্টি করেছেন । জেনে রাখ, সৃজন ও আদেশ তারই । সৃষ্টিকুলের রব আল্লাহ কত বরকতময় । "
সুরাহ আল-ইখলাস ( ১১২ : ১- ৪ ) : [ আল্লাহ বলেন , হে মুহাম্মাদ ] “ বলুন , তিনি আল্লাহ, এক-অদ্বিতীয় , আল্লাহ কারো মুখাপেক্ষী নন, সকলেই তাঁর মুখাপেক্ষী । তিনি কাউকে জন্ম দেননি এবং তাঁকেও জন্ম দেয়া হয়নি । আর তাঁর কোন সমকক্ষও নেই । "

এই আয়াতগুলো থেকে স্পষ্ট বোঝা যায় যে, আল্লাহ নিজেই কুরআনে নিজেকে "আল্লাহ" নামে পরিচয় দিয়েছেন , তারপর তাঁর গুণাবলির কিছু সংযোজন করেছেন । আল্লাহর ৯৯টি নাম মূলত তাঁর বিভিন্ন গুণাবলিকে নির্দেশ করে। প্রতিটি নাম আল্লাহর বিশেষ কোনো বৈশিষ্ট্য প্রকাশ করে, যেমন:

আর-রহমান (পরম দয়ালু) – তিনি সৃষ্টির প্রতি দয়ালু।
আল-খালিক (সৃষ্টিকর্তা) – তিনি সমস্ত কিছু সৃষ্টি করেছেন।
আল-মালিক (সর্বময় শাসক) – সমস্ত রাজত্ব তাঁর হাতে।
আল-গফুর (পরম ক্ষমাশীল) – তিনি অনুতপ্তদের ক্ষমা করেন।
আল-আলীম (সর্বজ্ঞ) – তিনি সবকিছু জানেন।

The 99 names of Allah primarily represent His various attributes. However, the name "Allah" is universal, unique, and supreme—it encompasses all other attributes. That is why the name "Allah" is not merely one of the 99 names but is above them all. In the Holy Qur’an, Allah introduces Himself by the name “Allah” in many verses, proving that "Allah" is His fundamental and highest name. For example:

Surah Taha (20:14) : [Allah says] “Indeed, I am Allah. There is no deity except Me, so worship Me and establish prayer for My remembrance.”
Surah An-Naml (27:9) : [Allah says] “O Musa (Moses), indeed I am Allah — the Almighty, the All-Wise.”
Surah Al-A’raf (7:54) : [Allah says] “Indeed, your Lord is Allah, who created the heavens and the earth in six days, then established Himself above the Throne. He covers the night with the day, chasing it rapidly. And He created the sun, the moon, and the stars—subservient to His command. Unquestionably, His is the creation and the command. Blessed is Allah, the Lord of the worlds.”
Surah Al-Ikhlas (112:1-4) : [Allah says, O Muhammad] “Say, He is Allah, the One and Only. Allah, the Self-Sufficient. He neither begets nor is born. And there is none comparable to Him.”

These verses clearly show that Allah introduced Himself as "Allah" in the Qur’an and then described His attributes . The 99 names of Allah indicate His various attributes. Each name reflects a special characteristic of Allah, such as:

Ar-Rahman (The Most Merciful) – He is merciful to all creation.
Al-Khaliq (The Creator) – He created everything.
Al-Malik (The Sovereign King) – All dominion belongs to Him.
Al-Ghaffur (The Most Forgiving) – He forgives those who repent.
Al-‘Alim (The All-Knowing) – He knows everything.
