Surah 111: Al Masad

| আমরা সবসময় মনে রাখি | We Always Remember |​

  • যখন একজন মানুষ মারা যায়, তার সব কাজ শেষ হয়ে যায় , তিনটি ব্যতিক্রম ছাড়া: সদকা জারিয়া (চলমান দান) , এমন জ্ঞান যা থেকে উপকার পাওয়া যায়, এবং একটি সৎ সন্তান যে তার জন্য দোয়া করে । | মুহাম্মদ (সাঃ) ; হাদিস - সহিহ মুসলিম | When a person dies, his works end, except for three: ongoing charity, knowledge that is benefited from, and a righteous child who prays for him. | Prophet Mohammed (PBUH); Hadith - Sahih Muslim |

  • যে ব্যক্তি ভাল কাজের জন্য সুপারিশ করবে, তার জন্য তাতে (সাওয়াবের) অংশ আছে এবং যে মন্দ কাজের জন্য সুপারিশ করবে, তার জন্য তাতে অংশ আছে । আর আল্লাহ সব কিছুর উপর নজর রাখেন । | সূরাঃ ৪ , আন-নিসা , আয়াতঃ : ৮৫ | Whoever intercedes for a good cause will have a reward therefrom; and whoever intercedes for an evil cause will have a burden therefrom. (The Twisted Rope)​

Surah Al-Masad, the 111th chapter of the Quran, was revealed in Makkah. It talks about Abu Lahab, an uncle of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), who was one of the strongest enemies of Islam. The name "Al-Masad" means "Palm Fiber" or "Twisted Strands," which symbolizes the punishment that is prepared for Abu Lahab and his wife, who also tried to harm the Prophet.

This Surah is a clear reminder that opposing the truth, even if you are close to it by family ties, will not protect you from punishment. Abu Lahab and his wife used their wealth and power to fight against the Prophet and stop the spread of Islam. But Allah shows that their wealth and status will not help them in the Hereafter. Instead, they will face severe punishment for their actions.

In this Surah, Allah condemns their behavior and tells about their terrible end, showing that no amount of worldly power can save someone from Allah’s punishment if they choose to oppose His message.

Translet (Saiah International)

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

  1. May the hands of Abu Lahab be ruined, and ruined is he
  2. His wealth will not avail him or that which he gained.
  3. He will [enter to] burn in a Fire of [blazing] flame
  4. And his wife [as well] - the carrier of firewood.
  5. Around her neck is a rope of [twisted] fiber.

What Allah Says​

This Surah has 5 verses. In Surah Al-Masad, Allah tells what will happen to Abu Lahab and his wife, who were very hostile to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Allah says that their wealth and efforts will be useless, and they will face severe punishment in the Hereafter. Abu Lahab will be thrown into a blazing fire, and his wife, who used to place thorns in the Prophet's path, will be tied with a rope of twisted palm fibers and dragged into the fire. This Surah serves as a strong warning to those who oppose the truth and misuse their power and wealth against Islam.

Reflection on Opposing the Truth: The fate of Abu Lahab and his wife reminds us that going against Allah’s message leads to destruction, no matter how wealthy or powerful a person is.

Reflection on the Uselessness of Wealth and Power: This Surah shows us that wealth and power cannot protect us from Allah’s judgment. Abu Lahab’s wealth and status could not save him from the fire.

  • O Allah, guide me to always support the truth and protect me from the consequences of going against Your message. Ameen.
  • O Allah, protect me from Your punishment and guide me to live a life that pleases You. Keep me on the right path and help me avoid actions that would lead to Your anger. Ameen.

পরম দয়ালু, পরম মেহেরবান, আল্লাহর নামে।

  1. ধ্বংস হোক আবূ লাহাবের দু’হাত এবং সে নিজেও ধ্বংস হোক।
  2. তার ধন-সম্পদ আর সে যা অর্জন করেছে তা তার কোন কাজে আসল না,
  3. অচিরেই সে শিখা বিশিষ্ট জাহান্নামের আগুনে প্রবেশ করবে,
  4. আর তার স্ত্রীও- যে কাঠবহনকারিণী
  5. আর তার গলায় শক্ত পাকানো রশি বাঁধা থাকবে।
