যে ব্যক্তি ভাল কাজের জন্য সুপারিশ করবে, তার জন্য তাতে (সাওয়াবের) অংশ আছে এবং যে মন্দ কাজের জন্য সুপারিশ করবে, তার জন্য তাতে অংশ আছে । আর আল্লাহ সব কিছুর উপর নজর রাখেন । | সূরাঃ ৪ , আন-নিসা , আয়াতঃ : ৮৫ | Whoever intercedes for a good cause will have a reward therefrom; and whoever intercedes for an evil cause will have a burden therefrom. সূরা আল-হুমাযাহ, কুরআনের ১০৪তম সূরা, মক্কায় অবতীর্ণ এবং এটি সমাজের কিছু মানুষের ক্ষতিকর গুণ ও আচরণ নিয়ে আলোকপাত করে। এই সূরাটি বিশেষভাবে তাদের নিন্দা করে, যারা পরনিন্দা ও অপবাদে লিপ্ত হয় এবং সম্পদের মোহে অন্যদের অধিকার ও প্রয়োজনকে উপেক্ষা করে। “আল-হুমাযাহ” শব্দের অর্থ হচ্ছে — “নিন্দাকারী” বা “অপবাদ দানকারী”, যা সূরাটির মূল বার্তাকে প্রতিফলিত করে । এই সূরা কঠোরভাবে সতর্ক করে দেয় যে, পরনিন্দা ও কুৎসা রটনার মতো আচরণ সমাজে বিভেদ ও ক্ষতি ডেকে আনে। এটি সেইসব মানুষের জন্য একটি শিক্ষা, যারা সম্পদের ওপর নির্ভর করে নিজেকে নিরাপদ বা মর্যাদাবান ভাবে—কিন্তু কুরআন স্মরণ করিয়ে দেয়, প্রকৃত নিরাপত্তা ও সম্মান আসে সৎকর্ম ও আল্লাহর সঙ্গে আন্তরিক সম্পর্কের মাধ্যমে।
আল্লাহ এই সূরায় স্পষ্ট করে জানিয়ে দিয়েছেন যে, যারা এই ধরনের ক্ষতিকর আচরণে লিপ্ত, তারা পরকালে কঠোর শাস্তির মুখোমুখি হবে। এটি মুমিনদেরকে স্মরণ করিয়ে দেয়—তাদের উচিত উন্নত চরিত্র গঠন, মানুষের সঙ্গে সম্মানজনক আচরণ এবং এমন সব কাজ করা যা আল্লাহর সন্তুষ্টি অর্জনে সহায়ক।
Surah Al-Humazah, the 104th chapter of the Qur’an, was revealed in Makkah and addresses the harmful traits and behaviors found in certain individuals within society. It specifically criticizes those who indulge in backbiting, slander, and the obsessive accumulation of wealth while disregarding the rights and needs of others. The term "Al-Humazah" means "the backbiter" or "the slanderer," reflecting the core message of the Surah. This Surah serves as a strong warning against the destructive impact of gossip and malicious speech, which can cause division and harm within communities. It also highlights the futility of relying on wealth as a source of protection or status, reminding us that true safety and honor come through righteous deeds and a sincere relationship with Allah.
Allah makes it clear in this Surah that those who engage in such harmful actions will face severe punishment in the Hereafter. It reminds believers to develop noble character, treat others with dignity, and focus on deeds that earn the pleasure of Allah.

আল্লাহর নামে, যিনি পরম করুণাময়, পরম দয়ালু
আয়াত ১০৪ : ১ - ৯
- দুর্ভোগ প্রত্যেকের, যে পশ্চাতে ও সম্মুখে লোকের নিন্দা করে। [ যে ব্যক্তি অন্যদের উপহাস করে ও অপমান করে—হোক তা পেছনে পরনিন্দার মাধ্যমে, কিংবা সামনাসামনি কটূক্তি করে।]
- যে সম্পদ জমা করে এবং বার বার গণনা করে । [ সে ধন-সম্পদ জমাতে ব্যস্ত এবং যা কিছু সংগ্রহ করেছে, তা নিয়ে অহংকার করে । ]
- সে ধারণা করে যে, তার অর্থ তাকে অমর করে রাখবে ;
- কখনো না! সে অবশ্যই নিক্ষিপ্ত হবে হুতামায় ;[ ‘হুত্বামাহ’ জাহান্নামের একটি নাম। ‘হুত্বামাহ’ অর্থঃ ভেঙ্গে-চুরে ধ্বংস করা ।]
- আর আপনাকে কিসে জানাবে হুতামা কী? [ ‘হুতামা’ শব্দটি ব্যব হার করা হয়েছে জাহান্নামের ভয়াবহতা প্রকাশের জন্য । এই আগুন এতটাই ভয়ানক যে, মানুষের জ্ঞান-বুদ্ধি তার প্রকৃত রূপ পুরোপুরি অনুধাবন করতে সক্ষম নয়। মানুষের অনুভব ও কল্পনাও এর তীব্রতা ও বিভীষিকাকে পুরোপুরি আয়ত্তে আনতে পারে না। এটা এমন এক ধ্বংসকারী আগুন, যা কেবল দেহ নয়—অন্তরের গভীর পর্যন্ত পুড়িয়ে দেয়।]
- আল্লাহর প্রজ্জ্বলিত আগুন ।
- যা হৃদয়কে গ্রাস করবে । [ অর্থাৎ—জাহান্নামের সেই আগুন এত তীব্র হবে যে তার উত্তাপ ও শাস্তি সরাসরি হৃদয়ের গভীর পর্যন্ত পৌঁছে যাবে । সাধারণত আগুন শরীরের বাইরের অংশেই ধ্বংস করে দেয় এবং মানুষ মারা যায় তার আগেই। কিন্তু জাহান্নামের আগুন হবে সম্পূর্ণ ভিন্ন
-> সেই আগুন অন্তর পর্যন্ত প্রবেশ করবে,
-> মানুষ বারবার মৃত্যু কামনা করবে,
-> কিন্তু মৃত্যু আসবে না।
-> তারা জ্বলতে থাকবে, ভুগতে থাকবে,
-> অথচ মুক্তির কোনো পথ থাকবে ন া। ] - নিশ্চয় এটা তাদেরকে পরিবেষ্টন করে রাখবে । [ অর্থাৎ — অপরাধীদেরকে জাহান্নামের মধ্যে নিক্ষেপ করা হবে, তারপর সেই আগুন ও শাস্তি তাদের চারদিক থেকে এমনভাবে ঘিরে ফেলবে যে, উপরের দিক থেকেও তা সম্পূর্ণরূপে বন্ধ করে দেওয়া হবে। কোনো দরজা তো দূরের কথা, একটিমাত্র ছিদ্র পর্যন্ত খোলা রাখা হবে না, যেন তারা মুক্তির সামান্যতম আশাও না করতে পারে।]
- দীর্ঘায়িত স্তম্ভসমূহে । [ আয়াতের এই অংশ — “ফি আমাদিম মুমাদ্দাদাহ” — এর একাধিক ব্যাখ্যা রয়েছে, যেগুলোর সবই ভয়াবহ শাস্তির ইঙ্গিত দেয়। এর মধ্যে তিনটি প্রধান ব্যাখ্যা হলো:
-> জাহান্নামের দরজাগুলো বন্ধ করে দিয়ে, তার ওপরে উঁচু উঁচু স্তম্ভ বা থাম গেড়ে দেওয়া হবে, যাতে ভিতরে থাকা অপরাধীরা কোনোভাবেই বের হতে না পারে ।
-> অপরাধীরা সেই উঁচু উঁচু থামের সঙ্গে বেঁধে রাখা হবে, বন্দীর মতো ।
-> সেই স্তম্ভগুলো দিয়েই শাস্ত ি প্রদান করা হবে — তাদেরকে ধ্বংস ও অপমান করার এক কঠিন উপায় হিসেবে এই থাম ব্যবহৃত হবে।
আল্লাহ এই শাস্তির বিস্তারিত ব্যাখ্যা দেননি, কিন্তু এর ভয়াবহতা কল্পনা করাও কঠিন। ]
Verse 104 : 1 - 9
- Woe to every backbiter and slanderer – [ The one who mocks and defames others, whether behind their back or to their face.]
- Who collects wealth and counts it repeatedly – [ He is obsessed with hoarding wealth and takes pride in the quantity he owns.]
- He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal.
- No! He will surely be thrown into the Hutamah (Crusher).[ "Hutamah" is one of the names of Hell. The word "Hutamah" means "that which crushes and shatters completely]
- And what can make you know what the Hutamah is? [ ‘Hutamah’ is a name used to describe the terrifying punishment of Hellfire. This fire is so dreadful that the human intellect cannot fully comprehend its reality. Human understanding and perception fall short in grasping the severity and horror of it. It is a destructive fire that does not only burn the body, but reaches deep into the core of the heart.]
- It is the kindled Fire of Allah – [ The fire that is lit and fueled by Allah’s will, not like any earthly fire.]
- Which will reach up to the hearts. [ That is, the intensity of Hellfire will penetrate all the way to the heart. Unlike worldly fire that usually destroys the outer body and leads to death before reaching the inner organs, the fire of Hell will not cause death. Instead:
-> It will invade the heart,
-> People will desperately call for death,
-> But death will never come,
-> They will keep burning and suffering, without any escape. ] - Indeed, it will be closed down upon them – [ The criminals will be cast into Hell and it will be sealed tightly over them. Not just locked doors—there won’t be even a crack of escape. Total confinement with no hope of release.]
- In extended columns (pillars). [ The phrase “in extended columns” (fi ‘amadim mumaddadah) has multiple interpretations, all pointing to a terrifying punishment:
-> The gates of Hell will be shut and towering columns or pillars will be erected above, sealing them inside entirely.
-> The sinners will be tied to these tall pillars, like prisoners.
-> The pillars themselves will be used as tools of torment and destruction—inflicting pain and disgrace.
Allah has not revealed the full details of this punishment, but its horror is beyond imagination. ]
